On the way home

Madison and I got back to the airport early. It was about 7:30 pm and our flight did not leave until 9:10. So we went to the airport restaurant for dinner. The lady seated next to us started up a conversation. She told us she was a swimmer. I told her I used to swim in high school and we talked a bit about swimming. I asked her who she swam for and if she was a professional. She told me that she was. I asked if we might see her in the upcoming summer Olympics. She told me definitely, she was in the last 2 Olympics and had won a couple of silver medals. I was a bit embarrassed, and asked her name. She told me, but I did not recognize her name and apologized. She was very nice and said it was ok that I did not know her. So who was this mystery swimmer?

My trip with Madison

I got to take Madison on her trip to Disneyland. It was a long day. I got up at 4am (Madison at 4:30) and we left for the airport about 4:45. Our flight left at 6 am.

So close, yet so far away. They tricked us by opening the gates and letting people in at 8:30 (the park did not open until 9 am). When we got to the main square, it was roped off and we were not allowed to pass until 9am.

Indiana Jones - The first time

Splash Mountain

We had a great time. Madison commented "I am glad Morgan is not here. I don't have to hear her whining."

The 6th picture

I was tagged on my neighbor's blog, so here it goes.

The rules:

1.Go to your document/pictures file on your computer

2.Go to the 6th file

3.Go to the 6th picture

4. Blog about that picture

5. Tag 6 other people

Here's my picture:

Jamie, I am so jealous. Your picture was much cuter than mine!!! Well, what can I say. Dale and I were planning on getting new bedroom furniture a couple of years ago. I scanned the floor plan of our house on to our computer and cropped out the individual rooms. It has come in quite handy. Every time we want to rearrange a room, I go and print out a floor plan first and work out the details in pencil.

so now I tag: Christine Tecca, Kathy Tecca, Tara Leonhardt, Carrie Dyer, Glenn Disney and Lynette Wilie

My Guitar Hero

I got Dale Guitar Hero for his birthday. We all took turns on it. It is quite difficult (for those with no experience playing guitars). Dale thought the "easy" setting was too easy, so he jumped right to "hard". He did not last very long. You would think he would have an advantage, being a bass player and all.

Dale's ?? Birthday

I think Dale loved all of his presents too!

This was the third cake from the long day of cake making. It is a mint chocolate chip ice cream cake. It was very yummy!

Madison's 7th Birthday

Today we celebrated Madison's Birthday. She was excited about all her gifts.

This card was from Uncle Glenn and Whitney. (Madison loves transformers). I loved how he crossed out "boy" an replaced it with "girl". I guess girl transformer birthday cards are hard to find.

We thought we would try something different this year. Instead of one big family trip to Disneyland, we would go on our birthdays. We registered for our free Disneyland tickets and are now waiting for our special day. We did not tell the kids, so this was a big surprise.
Dale made a note and we wrapped it in a box. It took her a while to figure it out.

Cake, Cake and More Cake!

This week I was very busy making 3 cakes. I made 2 for the YW dessert auction. I thought I would be brave and try to make a pot of gold cake. It was pretty tricky, but turned out ok (a little lumpy, but still cute). I made the purse cake as a back up. I have done this one several times and have got it figured out pretty well. The 3rd cake was for Dale and Madison's birthday. It was not as fancy.
