Slip N Slide

Today was a slip n slide day. I don't think Michaela and her BFF Kate are getting the most out of their slides. Oh well, at least they are having fun.

Picnic

We decided to have a picnic at the last minute. The kids loved the idea but hated all of the flies.

Slave Labor

Our backyard has been neglected for quite a while. It was not too hot this morning, so I figured what the heck, I will give the plants a much needed trim. Half way through I went inside to get a drink when I discovered my 3 children lounging around. Wait a minute - something is definately wrong here. I turned off the computer and TV and made them help me. It took Morgan some convincing to actually do some work. When I threatened to take away the TV, computer and Nintendo, her attitude quickly changed. They did a great job picking up the trimmings and they even got a dollar each for their efforts.

Working hard part II

I noticed that it was awfully quiet and wondered what kind of trouble Michaela was getting into. I found her asleep at the computer again.

I wonder what she was working on? I should try it at bedtime.

No more ponytails

Madison has wanted to get her hair cut short for quite a while. Since we were getting it cut short, why not donate it to "Locks of Love". I was not sure how she would react to having short hair, but she seems to love it. Hopefully she will be able to take care of it herself.

Funderland

Today we went to Funderland. The girls loved it. Morgan and Madison went on the dragon roller coaster probably about 5 times. Michaela went just once. She did not like it. I knew it was time to go home when Michaela started to fall asleep on one of the rides. I guess she had a little too much fun!!

Diving Board Friday

The girls have been waiting all week for today. Why? Because it is diving board Friday, of course.

Michaela wanted to jump off but got a little scared when she got to the edge. So, she sat down and dove in. It wasn't as painful as it looks. She wanted to go again, but she will have to wait until next week.

Madison loves jumping off of the diving board.

Morgan is learning to dive off of the diving board.

Swim lessons

We started swim lessons this week. The girls love going, especially Michaela. She is not afraid of the water and even goes under water.

Working hard

Michaela had been playing on the computer for quite a while. Dale went to check up on her and found her asleep at the keyboard (or I guess mouse).

Independence Day

We celebrated the 4th of July pretty much the same as we do every year. We started off the morning with a flag raising ceremony and a pancake breakfast at church. After breakfast the children took part in a parade around the parking lot. This is the first time the kids decorated their scooters. They really got into it and did a great job.

After the parade we went to see Wall-e. It is quite a serious movie.
We had Dale's parents and brother over for dinner and ended the evening with fireworks.

Disneyland

Dale and I went to Disneyland this weekend. We left the girls with Dale's parents. It was very busy and some of the lines were very long. The longest line we had to stand in was Space Mountain, it was a 50 minute wait. Some of the newest rides were over 1 hour (Finding Nemo and Toy Story Mania). We were lucky and were able to get in line when it was only a 45 minute wait. Overall it was a great trip. We took pictures of ourselves waiting in line of every ride with Dale's phone. We sent them to his parents to let them know that we were having fun and missed the kids (not!). Here are some of my favorites.

Alice in Wonderland

Indiana Jones

Space Mountain

California Screaming
Dale did not want to go. I told him that I would ride by myself, but he insisted on coming. I liked it so much I went a second time, by myself.
