Play School

Michaela attends a "play school" with 3 other kids her age. Their names are Aaron, Nicole and Brody. Last week I needed to run some errands and I told Michaela we had to go to the store. She asked "What store?"

I replied "Kohl's"

She said "I am going to Nicole's house!"

I explained "no, we are going to the store called Kohl's"

She then asked "Why?"

I replied "Because I have to run some errands."

She then said "I am going to Aaron's?"

I am so glad that there are no stores that sound like Brody

Raley Field

I went with Madison's kindergarten class on a field trip to Raley Field. The tour was very interesting and our host was wonderful with the kids. The kids learned about teamwork, integrity and of course baseball. When Madison got home I asked her what she liked about the field trip the most. Her reply - the bus ride. I guess baseball is not her thing.

Hello Kitty

Michaela loves Hello Kitty. She got 4 shirts from my mom and that is all I can get her to wear. She had a Hello Kitty theme for her 3rd birthday. She loved the cake. It turned out real cute and I had a hard time cutting this one.

Too cute

I saw a picture of this cake and thought it was too cute. I decided to make it for Mother's day. The girls helped me punch out the flowers and decorate the cake.

Argh!

This cake I made for my brother in law. He had just got back from a cruise the night before. I thought a pirate hat was definitely appropriate.

I was not quite sure how to get the fondant on the cake, so I stuck with the traditonal frosting for this one.

Not quite the Ace of Cakes

I started watching Ace of Cakes not long ago and got hooked. The cakes they make are quite amazing. Dale wanted to know that the heck fondant was, so I thought I would make him a cake with fondant for his birthday. Of course, I can't do anything simple and decided to jump right in and make him a cake from Dr. Who (he is a big fan). The cake did not quite turn out like one from Charm City Cakes, but at least you can tell what it is (at least if you know of Dr. Who). Don't look too closely at the cake and keep in mind that this was my first attempt.
