Laurie's Birthday

Today we celebrated my birthday, even though it is not really my birthday (as Nancy would point out). Michaela was very anxious to open the presents. She really did not care what was inside, she just wanted to open them. I know you are probably thinking "what is in the box?" So, I will tell you. It is a new set of kitchen knives. I have come to the conclusion that the older you get, the less exciting your gifts get.

Madison's Awards Assembly

Yesterday was Madison's Kindergarten awards assembly. She received 2 awards. 1 for Citizenship and 1 for Homework Hero. She is very proud of her awards.

Morgan's Awards Ceremony

Morgan had her end of the year awards ceremony this morning. She received 3 awards - Perfect attendance (3rd trimester), Perfect attendance (for the school year) and Citizenship. Yeah Morgan!! Keep up the good work.

Field trip to the Zoo

Michaela and I went with Madison's Kindergarden class on a trip to the Sacramento Zoo. I had a small group of kids - Madison, Ethan and Michaela. It was a very nice and relaxing trip. This time Madison enjoyed more than just the bus ride.

Here are the kids having a snack. (No Madison is not sitting on Ethan's lap. I asked her to scoot closer to Ethan because the sun was shining in her face.)

Missionary Dinner

We had the missionaries over for dinner last night. Michaela was acting shy and put her head on the table to try and hide from them. After a couple of minutes I realized that she had fallen asleep. I hope the missionaries don't have that effect on other people.

Enrichment Night

I made another purse cake for our Enrichment night. We asked a couple of sisters to make a cake and used them as centerpieces on the tables that the sisters were sitting at. We ate the cakes after dinner. I think this one turned out better than the first one.

The First Day of Preschool

Michaela started preschool last week. She has been very excited to go. Her BFF Kate has been going for almost a year now, so she has heard a lot about it. For the first day they made a snake.
